Get Your Cayenne Dirty - Cayenne Off Road Safari
15 August at Kirtlington Oxfordshire
Are you sick of being ridiculed by family, friends and neighbours for having an off road vehicle but never having used it off road? Has your biggest off road adventure been traversing a patch of slightly damp grass?
The Cayenne is a very capable off roader but few owners ever experience even part of the potential of their vehicle. As a Club for all Porsches we are keen to ensure everyone gets the opportunity to use their Porsche to its full...this includes Cayennes.
As part of the Porsche and Polo Intermediate Registers Display Event (15 August) we are considering forming an off road safari for Cayenne owners (and any other 4x4's if places allow). The route will be specially prepared to include a variety off road stages. These will vary from un metalled access roads, and tracks, to a number of more challenging obstacles.
The course will be of such a nature that, if driven sensibly, vehicles will not be damaged in any way; although it will certainly be more challenging than something you could complete in a Fiat 500 or a Ford Focus. The safaris will be run in small convoys, with a lead car, so there should be little possibility of going wrong. Instruction will be given prior to the off, and when undertaking more challenging obstacles. The lead vehicle will be used to demonstrate the correct way to tackle an obstacle and recover vehicles should they get stuck. Frightening challenges can be avoided if preferred.
Opportunity will certainly be made for you to be photographed in the teeth of a seemingly insurmountable obstacle - why should the track day boys get all the best pictures of their cars?
This all sounds very exciting, but doesn't happen overnight. In order to establish the viability of, and enthusiasm for, such an event could Cayenne owners contact Phillip or John at 911 Sport to note their interest. To be included in possibly the best Porsche event EVER.
By far the best aspect of this adventure will be that, subsequent to the event, you can choose whether to clean the mud off or not...that'll shut them up.
